Hiawatha Golf Club in Tomah opens with a par five that gives players a wide landing area at the dogleg. Reaching the green in two is a gamble: two large bunkers guard the putting surface, out of bounds runs along the right, and a hazard waits long and left.
The first green also slopes sharply from back to front, so the test continues after the approach, making par a solid result on the hole.
