About St. Croix National Golf & Event Center LLC
St. Croix National occupies land that was once the Snowcrest Ski Hill, a Somerset-area slope that drew skiers until it closed in 1983. The dramatic elevation changes left behind by that past shape much of the golf course today.
The layout was designed by Joel Goldstrand, a Minnesota native who played eight years on the PGA Tour and served as head professional at Minneapolis Golf Club before turning to course architecture. Over his career he designed more than 100 courses, among them Bunker Hills, Eagle Valley, Ridges at Sand Creek and the Grand View Lodge courses.

Routing a course through this terrain presented a genuine challenge, given how extreme the elevations are across the property. Goldstrand returned to the site many times over the years, and the course continues to build on his original design.
