Spring Valley Country Club

Spring Valley Country Club is a public 18-hole course in Salem Lakes, Wisconsin, a short drive from Kenosha County and Antioch, Illinois, open to players of varying ability.

The layout was designed by the architectural team of Langford and Moreau, who completed it shortly before their later work at Lawsonia near Green Lake. The pair built more than 200 courses, largely across the Midwest, and worked from the principle that a hole's defense belongs close to the green. That philosophy shows here in wide fairways, multilevel greens and steep grass-faced bunkers. The original drawings called for 65 sand bunkers, but the first owner elected to leave them grassed, a decision maintained by the family that has owned the course since 1959.
