About Lake Wisconsin Country Club
Lake Wisconsin Country Club was chartered by the State of Wisconsin in October 1925, on land beside the Prairie du Sac hydroelectric dam granted for the club's use by the Wisconsin River Power Company. Remnants of the dam construction remain part of the layout today. The first greens were built with soil hauled from a nearby farm by horsecart, and an early clubhouse and greens watering system followed. Activity stopped during World War II, when much of the course was fenced off for security, and the club was reorganized in 1948.

A new clubhouse was built in 1963 and a second nine added the next year. Later work included rebuilt greens, a practice green, new tees and a clubhouse expansion in 1985, and a computerized irrigation system in 2000 along with a reservoir pond, 17 new tees and mounding, with 16 of the 18 holes updated.
