Big Sand Lake Golf Course
About Big Sand Lake Golf Course
Big Sand Lake Club is a private, member-owned summer community in Wisconsin's Northwoods, though its nine-hole golf course is open to public play. Set among tall pines and rolling greens, the layout has a relaxed character suited to golfers across a range of abilities, whether year-round residents or seasonal visitors.
The club traces its origins to 1891, when it was established as the Eagle River Fishing and Shooting Club, a rustic hunting retreat for sportsmen traveling from Chicago. Over the following decades it developed from logging-camp beginnings into a family-oriented seasonal community. The property spans more than 600 acres and is bordered by the waters of Big Sand Lake. Aside from the golf course, club facilities and activities are reserved for members and their guests.
