About The Lido

The Lido is a recreation of C.B. Macdonald's Lido Golf Club, which opened on Long Island in 1917. In keeping with Macdonald's routings, the original layout featured a collection of classic template holes, among them the Alps, the Redan and the Eden.

The course's history ended during World War II, when the U.S. Navy acquired the property for use as a military base and the holes were destroyed. In the decades that followed, the vanished layout remained a subject of fascination among golfers as one of the game's lost courses, a reputation that led to its re-creation in Nekoosa, Wisconsin.
