About Yakima Country Club

Yakima Country Club traces its origins to 1915, when a group of local business and professional men set out to create a social gathering place and a course for the growing city of Yakima, pressing ahead even as the First World War unfolded. Julius Harrah, son of an eastern steel manufacturer and the namesake of the town of Harrah, took up the idea and led the effort to clear rocks and sagebrush for the original nine holes. He also advanced the money for the club's first clubhouse, which burned in 1931; a later clubhouse was lost to fire in 1943.

The current clubhouse dates to 1949 and has been renovated and enlarged several times, most recently in 2016 with an expanded bar, East and West wings, and a north patio. A second nine was added in 1953, completing the 18-hole layout.

Along with golf, the private club offers tennis and pickleball courts, a renovated pool and playground, and several dining areas.
