West Richland Golf Course
About West Richland Golf Course
West Richland Golf Course occupies land that was once federally owned farmland, pressed into service during World War II as an emergency landing and airdrop site for aircraft. After the war, the Army Corps of Engineers reshaped the ground into a nine-hole golf course, which opened in 1953 once the property passed into a community trust. The farmhouse that came with the land served as the original clubhouse and remained standing until 2008.
The layout was later expanded from nine holes to a full 18 and took on its present name.
