About Royal Oaks Country Club

Royal Oaks Country Club is a member-owned private club in Vancouver, Washington. It traces its origins to August 1945, when a group of 50 downtown businessmen each contributed $1,000 toward the purchase of 170 acres of land near Orchards. The first nine holes opened for play in 1947, with a second nine following in 1952 along with a new clubhouse.

The course is long and tree-lined, with a reputation for fast, smooth-rolling greens. It has a long history as a tournament venue, having hosted the region's major championships, including the PNGA Amateur won by Tiger Woods in 1994 and by Nick Flanagan in 2003.

The club also stages the Royal Oaks Invitational, a 54-hole individual stroke play event contested over three days in Championship, Junior/Senior and Senior divisions. Dick Yost won the inaugural edition in 1957, and later champions have included Peter Jacobsen, Dave Glenz and Jonathan Moore.
