Sunland Golf Club
About Sunland Golf Club
Sunland Golf Club in Sequim traces its origins to Arthur Vernon Macan, a golf course architect whose work shaped many courses across the Pacific Northwest, among them Royal Colwood, Marine Drive, Capilano, Richmond and Shaughnessy.
Sunland was the last course Macan designed before his death in 1964. He never saw the project completed, having suffered a heart attack while on the property. The routing of the front nine was built as he drew it, and Macan was inducted into the Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame in 1989. Local lore holds that the architect's presence still lingers along the fairways of his final design.
