About The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie

The Golf Club at Hawks Prairie is a public facility in Lacey offering two separate 18-hole courses, The Woodlands and The Links.

The Woodlands reflects classic Pacific Northwest golf, with wide fairways winding through stands of tall timber, ponds and wetlands in play, and large multi-tiered greens. Dense old-growth forest frames the holes, and the course can be set up from roughly 5,600 to 7,170 yards to suit a range of abilities. Its opening hole runs downhill and bends right along a tree-lined edge, with bunkers guarding the left side of the green and water to the right.

The Links, designed by Peter L.H. Thompson, takes a Scottish-style approach that contrasts sharply with its wooded neighbor. Open fairways roll over gentle hills toward the mouth of Puget Sound, with views of the water and Mount Rainier. Five sets of tees accommodate different skill levels, and water comes into play on nine of the eighteen holes.
