Harrington Golf & Country Club

Harrington Golf & Country Club is a semi-private, nine-hole course in Harrington, Washington. Designed by architect Robert "Bob" Putman, the layout was completed in 1962 and opened for play several months afterward. The regulation-length course plays to a par of 36, with a maximum nine-hole distance of 3,166 yards, a course rating of 37.3 and a slope rating of 126.

The course has community roots: it was built by local residents on roughly 70 acres converted from Jack Boyer's wheat field, financed in part by a $45,000 loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farmers Home Administration, which at the time supported turning farmland over to recreational use. The construction crew was made up entirely of volunteers from Harrington, and a photograph from June 1963 records them alongside Putman more than a year before the course welcomed its first golfers.
