Auburn Golf Course
About Auburn Golf Course
Auburn Golf Course traces its origins to the Green River Golf & Country Club, a group formally organized in the 1940s and made up largely of World War II veterans. Meeting first in restaurants and private homes before gathering publicly, the members set out to build what became the first nine-hole golf course open to the public in south King County.
The ground beneath the course has a longer agricultural past. At the close of the 19th century it was planted in hops, and it later formed part of the Isaac Evans farm before being shaped into fairways and greens.
