About Sleepy Hole Golf Course
Sleepy Hole Golf Course sits along the banks of the Nansemond River in Suffolk, Virginia. The layout was designed in 1973 by architect Russell Breeden and was renovated in 2003 under the direction of architect Tom Clark.
The course has a notable competitive history, serving as the site of the LPGA Crestar Classic during the 1980s and hosting a range of amateur and professional tournaments over the years. It continues to stage an annual Amateur Championship that counts toward VSGA point rankings and draws leading amateurs from Virginia and beyond.
Since 2012, the golf shop, grille and event facilities have been housed in the restored Obici House, a landmark clubhouse in the Tidewater region.
