Auburn Hills Golf Club in Riner, Virginia, places a premium on accuracy rather than raw length, with well-placed tee shots and approaches generally rewarded more than distance alone. Elevation changes of more than 100 feet run through the property, and several holes play from elevated tees down to the fairways below.
The layout features rolling terrain, large undulating greens and bunkers positioned to shape strategy on each hole.
The course was designed in 1999 by architect Algie Pulley, whose other work includes Chardonnay Golf Club in Napa, California, Apple Mountain Golf Club in Camino, California, and Royal Virginia Golf Club in Hadensville, Virginia.
