Piankatank River Golf Course

Piankatank River Golf Course opened in July 1996 on a 400-acre property in Hartfield, Virginia, with a strong sense of local history. The clubhouse sits at the headwaters of a tributary flowing into the Piankatank River, between Fairfield Farm, which adjoins the course to the east, and Woodstock Plantation, which lies just west of holes 11 through 14.

Woodstock, built in 1840 in early Republican style, has changed hands repeatedly since the eighteenth century and was once owned by the family of Robert Lincoln Todd Beckwith, the last blood descendant of Abraham Lincoln. To the east of Fairfield is Scoggins Creek, whose headwaters begin near Lower Church, a parish church whose present building was constructed between 1714 and 1717.
