About River Bend Golf & Country Club

River Bend Golf & Country Club in Great Falls, Virginia traces its origins to 1961, when a group of founding members — many of them employed nearby at the CIA in Langley — came together to acquire the Forest Lakes Country Club property at 375 Walker Road. At the time the site was largely open, undeveloped ground.

The original name came from Forest Lake, a street opposite what is now the club's western entrance. The property was later renamed River Bend, after River Bend Road, which lies just to the east.
