Poplar Grove Golf Club
About Poplar Grove Golf Club
Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst sits in the Blue Ridge Mountains and was designed by Sam Snead and Ed Carton — the last course Snead put his name to. The layout takes advantage of the mountain setting, with wide views and bent grass tees, fairways and greens.
The course has seen a series of improvements in recent years, including new trees and landscaping around the 18th, reworked fairways and greens, upgraded walkways, refreshed bunkers and a waterfall added at the 2nd hole.
Dining is available at The Manor House Café, which serves everything from quick bites to full meals, with seating on a back porch that looks out over the course.
