Mustang Golf Course, Taylor Texas Golf Course

Mustang Creek Golf Course in Taylor, Texas traces its origins to 1914, when a group of local bankers and community leaders bought 60 acres on Washington Heights above the town. The open plains and gently rolling terrain reminded them of the old links of Scotland, and the Taylor Country Club was established on the site a few years later.

The club operated as a semi-private facility for 64 years, known as much for its clubhouse, swimming pool and dining as for its golf. In the mid-1980s a group of local businessmen purchased the property from the Taylor Country Club, and it has been guided since by a board of directors and stockholders who have reinvested in the grounds.
