About San Saba River RV park and Golf Course
San Saba River Golf Course is an eighteen-hole municipal layout set just outside San Saba, Texas. Designed by architect Sorrell Smith, it opened in 1972 and measures 6,904 yards from the back tees to a par of 72, with a course rating of 72.5 and a slope of 119. The fairways are planted in Bermuda grass and the greens in Tifdwarf.
The course has a long association with local high school golf, having sent teams to the UIL State Golf Championship and produced state titles. Adult competition centers on the annual club championship, which concludes with the presentation of the Carter Parks Memorial Trophy to the year's leading men's golfer.
