Birmingham Golf Course is a nine-hole regulation layout in Rusk, Texas, set within the piney woods of East Texas. The course opened in 1967 and plays to a par of 36, measuring 2,873 yards from the longest tees, with a course rating of 34.7 and a slope of 118. It is owned by Angela and Mark Raiborn.
The property sits on land that was once part of New Birmingham, an iron ore boom town of the 1800s, and visitors still turn up relics of that period such as horseshoes, railroad spikes and arrowheads. Also on site is The Bunkhouse, a rustic cabin operated by the owners. Free-range goats and chickens roam the grounds and often wander near golfers, giving the course an informal, country character.
