About Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course
Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course is a par-72 municipal layout spread over 270 acres of rugged south Texas terrain. Century-old mesquite trees and two broad arroyos were worked into the routing, and the land rolls through a series of elevation changes that add difficulty while keeping the holes playable.
The course was designed by architect Robert Trent Jones II. Five sets of tees accommodate a range of abilities, measuring 7,069 yards from the back markers down to 4,759 yards from the forward tees, with tiger tees reaching 7,297 yards. Each hole also has a separate junior teeing area for family play.
