About The Nelson Golf and Sports Club

The Nelson Golf and Sports Club carries a long association with golf's championship history, having served as the home club of Byron and Peggy Nelson. The couple spent time here, hosted friends, and shaped the club's character around the values linked with Byron Nelson's career.

The course hosted the PGA Tour's Byron Nelson tournament, during which Peggy Nelson's custom of greeting players as they completed their rounds at the 18th green became a recognized tradition. Peggy Nelson remains connected to the club as her home course, and the Nelson continues to emphasize respect for the game and a sense of belonging among its members.
