Houston Oaks Country Club & Retreat

Houston Oaks Country Club & Retreat sits on roughly 900 acres of Texas countryside in Hockley, shaded by oak trees that are more than a century old. The property was originally owned by Tenneco in the mid-1950s.

In 2006 it was acquired by its current owners, Marci and Steve Alvis, Terri and John Havens, and Kim and Chuck Watson, who reshaped it as a private family sports and retreat club. As membership grew, additional recreational areas were added across the grounds, with care taken to preserve elements of the property's Tenneco-era history.
