About The Golf Club at Texas A&M
The campus course at Texas A&M opened in 1951 to a design by Ralph Plummer, a regional architect whose other Texas work included Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Champions Golf Club in Houston and Dallas Athletic Club. That layout served the university for more than 60 years before a complete renovation in 2013.
The rebuilt 18-hole course, now known as The Golf Club at Texas A&M, measures 7,008 yards and plays to a par of 71. It was designed by Texas A&M graduate Jeff Blume, a Houston-area architect who worked with Robert Von Hagge before founding his own firm in 1997. Blume, Houston businessman Robert Steele and Sterling Golf worked with the university on the project, which also added a driving range and a short-game practice area used for research and classes.
