About Brenham Country Club
Brenham Country Club traces its roots to the 1920s, when a group of local businessmen bought 100 acres a few miles east of Brenham and erected a three-story clubhouse, a structure still standing today as the Citadel.
The club relocated to its current site in 1950, where architect Ralph Plummer — also associated with Colonial and Champions — laid out the original nine holes. Early improvements included roughly 100 pine trees brought from Bastrop and planted on the hill behind what is now the 13th green and 14th tee, along with a water well and piping to the tees and greens, leaving the fairways unirrigated. A modest clubhouse with a pro shop came next, followed by a swimming pool and later an addition housing a kitchen and a room for social gatherings.

The course was expanded to eighteen holes in 1996. Work on a new clubhouse and pool began in 1997 and was finished in 1999.
