About Old Hickory Country Club
Old Hickory Country Club traces its origins to 1926, when it was established by the E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company for the employees of its Old Hickory plant — one of many company-built villages across the 1920s South, with DuPont serving as both builder and owner of the surrounding town.
The land the course occupies was once the home of the Bondurants, a French Huguenot family. Permission to lay out the holes came from "Boss" Robinson, then living in the Bondurant house, after a group of DuPont men — R.F. "Bob" Rives, Ky Williams, Frank Ernst, Bob Megee, Laird Stabler and Tom Evans — approached him about creating a golf course on the property.

The original Bondurant residence was demolished in the 1940s and rebuilt as a replica, which today serves as the club's clubhouse.
