Oak Ridge Country Club
About Oak Ridge Country Club
Oak Ridge Country Club dates to 1947, when scientists, engineers and community leaders in Oak Ridge built a golf course largely by volunteer labor on land provided by the Atomic Energy Commission, using hand tools and borrowed equipment.
The private club has grown over the decades to include a clubhouse, swimming pool and tennis facilities, along with a renovated course designed by Robert Cupp that retains elements of the original layout. Golfers who have played here include Arnold Palmer and Oak Ridge native and PGA Tour winner Scott Stallings.
Today the club remains a gathering place for golf, family activities and social events.
