About Holston Hills Country Club

Holston Hills Country Club opened in 1927 and has long been part of the Knoxville golf scene, built around a Donald Ross design that survives in close to its original form. The 18-hole layout spreads across 180 acres of rolling land beside the Holston River, with Bermuda grass fairways.

Because the routing has gone largely untouched for nearly a century, the course retains the strategic character associated with classic Ross architecture, presenting a test for golfers across a range of skill levels.

The Tudor-style clubhouse stands on a hill above the course, with views across the holes toward the Great Smoky Mountains in the distance. Its interior centers on a large ballroom with cathedral ceilings, exposed wood trusses and fireplaces, while a wide terrace wraps the southern side as a place to sit and take in the scenery.
