About Dakota Dunes Country Club
Dakota Dunes Country Club is a private club in the master-planned community of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, offering 18 holes of golf alongside a broader slate of family amenities, including casual and fine dining, a fitness facility, outdoor swimming, a recreation center and tennis courts.
The community itself was announced in August 1988 by Iowa Public Service, now MidAmerican Energy, whose chairman, Russ Christiansen, envisioned a business and residential development on the South Dakota side of the tri-state area, taking advantage of the setting near the Missouri and Big Sioux rivers. The golf course was built as part of that plan, with design work carried out by the Palmer organization.
