Summerville Country Club
About Summerville Country Club
Summerville Country Club traces its modern history to the years after World War II, when George "Chick" Miler bought the property and reopened it as a nine-hole course. The course's present back nine was laid out and constructed in 1958 by Eddie Ricobonni and Miler.
The club sits beside the Tea Farm subdivision, which grew up around the property. In the early 1960s the tea plants growing there were sold and moved to the Charleston Tea Plantation, preserving the stock and opening additional land for development in the neighborhood.

The club has been in the hands of the Blanton family since 1970, when Bufort Blanton purchased it, and the family continues to own and operate it. A family-oriented, Southern atmosphere is a hallmark of the club under their stewardship.
