About Furman University Golf Club
Furman University Golf Club is a public, par-72 course on the Furman campus in Greenville. It has served as the collegiate training ground for Furman alumni and touring professionals including Betsy King, Beth Daniel, Dottie Pepper and Brad Faxon.
The layout went through a significant renovation in 2008, when all 18 greens were rebuilt to USGA specifications and reseeded with Champion UltraDwarf Bermudagrass. A long-term master plan begun in 2010 has since added a dedicated practice facility for the Furman golf teams, expanded practice areas for public play, and new tees intended to suit a range of skill levels. That work also included revised bunkering, resurfaced cart paths, irrigation and drainage improvements, and upgrades to the clubhouse. The course is recognized as a PGA Family Course.
