About Carolina Lakes Golf Club

Carolina Lakes Golf Club is an 18-hole public course set between the Catawba River and stands of pine, maple and oak, a short drive from the Ballantyne area of Charlotte. Designed by architect Tim Freeland, the par-72 layout plays 7,007 yards and incorporates natural streams and several ponds, with Bermuda fairways and G2 bentgrass greens.

Six sets of tees accommodate a wide range of ages and abilities, including a family tee that converts the course into a par-55 executive layout of 17 par 3s and a single par 4. Notable elevation changes, placed bunkering and penalty areas shape the challenge.

The clubhouse serves as an event space for golf outings and private celebrations, with customized menus available. Inside, The Tavern at the Lakes offers a full-service bar and a menu, overlooking the practice facility.
