About Newport National Golf Club

Newport National Golf Club sits on 200 acres in Middletown, Rhode Island, and opened in 2002 on land that was previously a landscape nursery, farm and orchard. The public course was designed by architect Arthur Hills.

The championship layout plays to 7,200 yards at par 72 in a links style, with bentgrass tees, fairways and greens framed by fescue, giving it a character reminiscent of Irish courses. Views extend to the Atlantic Ocean and the Sakonnet Passage, and the property is set up to accommodate a range of skill levels.

Restored natural areas and a bridle trail run through the grounds, reflecting the course's emphasis on open space and environmental sensitivity.
