About John F. Byrne Golf Club
John F. Byrne Golf Club is a municipal course in Philadelphia, acquired by the city in the early 1960s and named for city councilman John F. Byrne. Since November 2019 it has been operated by First Tee of Greater Philadelphia.
The layout was designed by Alexander Findlay and has undergone a series of improvements under First Tee's management, including a new irrigation system, tree work, cart paths, and a renovated clubhouse that opened in May 2022.
Byberry Creek winds through the property and comes into play on ten holes. Oversized bunkers are placed strategically around the course's average-sized greens.
