Hi-Level Golf Course sits in rural Western Pennsylvania and has been owned and operated by the Hess family for 61 years, making it a third-generation family business. The course has kept its original design and historic character while adding newer features, including Golf Boards available for rent and a full Soccer Golf course.
The land was acquired by Edward Hess, an oil and gas producer and grandfather of the current owners, who bought several tracts of rugged ground mainly to improve it and explore for remaining oil reserves. Though not a golfer himself, he was curious whether others would enjoy playing on the newly developed terrain.
Hess built the course around the idea that golf should be fun, and that approach still shapes the layout: fairways are wide, the rough is kept short, and the greens are well regarded locally.
