Pine Hill Golf Course

Pine Hill Golf Course is an 18-hole public course set in the countryside near Greenville, in the foothills of northwest Pennsylvania. The layout plays to a par of 72 and measures 6,013 yards from the back tees, with a slope rating of 98, and it takes in wide views across the surrounding landscape.

The course traces its beginnings to 1965, when Charles "Chub" Loreno and his brother set out to build a course on 100 acres of farmland and woodland they owned in Sugar Grove Township, Mercer County. An excavation contractor by trade, Loreno shaped the first nine holes out of the farm fields, and play began in 1967. As the game grew in popularity the course became a gathering place for area railroad and mill workers and a base for golf leagues, and in 1970 a second nine was cut through the woods around the original holes to form the current 18.
