Victory Hills Golf Course
About Victory Hills Golf Course
Victory Hills Golf Course, operated as 7 Springs Golf Course by Seven Springs Country Club Inc., sits in Elizabeth Township, Allegheny County, about 20 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The course opened in 1955 and has been owned and run by the Edward J. Rack family ever since. Eddie Rack's connection to golf began long before that: in 1918, at age six, he started caddying at Youghiogheny Country Club to help support his family. A club member there, Bill Sullivan, who coached at McKeesport High School, encouraged him to return to school and join the golf team, which played its home matches at the Yough, allowing Rack to practice at the course where he worked. His teammates in those years included Crawford Kelly, Peden Gamble, Aldo Zecchini and the future Dr. Ritchie and Dr. Caughey.
