Coudersport Golf Club

Coudersport Golf Club traces its origins to a meeting held at Coudersport High School on September 10, 1935, called specifically to organize a golf club on farmland that had belonged to the Gray Chemical Company. The club was incorporated as a non-profit organization, and by-laws were adopted at the time of its founding.

The original purchase covered 143 acres. Work began in the fall of 1935 with the goal of opening for play by the spring of 1936, and involved clearing land, picking stones, and shaping greens and fairways. L.G. Soper oversaw construction, while much of the heavy labor was carried out by Wallace Haupt and Sons.
