About Northwinds Peninsula Golf Club
Northwinds Peninsula Golf Club, once known as the Golf Club at Indian Lake, holds a notable place in golf history as the first course designed by Arnold Palmer. His original nine opened in 1967 as part of a private, member-owned club. A rustic clubhouse followed in 1983, built to fit the surrounding woodland setting. In 1994 the membership approved a second nine, which opened for play in 1996 and brought the layout to its present 18 holes.

The course winds through tree-lined fairways with undulating greens and plentiful wildlife, and the newer nine was routed to blend with Palmer's original holes.
After several changes in management and a shift from semi-private to public play, Indian Lake Borough purchased the property and partnered with Northwinds Golf Club to operate and restore it. The course now operates as a public 18-hole facility under the Northwinds Peninsula name.
