About Buck Hill Golf Club

Buck Hill Golf Club sits in the mountain community of Buck Hill Falls, Pennsylvania, whose origins date to 1900, when Samuel E. Griscom, a Philadelphia Quaker, inherited the land from his father. Griscom imagined the tract as a quiet highland retreat from city life and asked his friend Howard Jenkins to survey it. Jenkins traveled there with his sons Charles, Arthur and Edward, along with Henry T. Paiste, and found a wilderness of hemlock, flowering rhododendron, grey boulders and running water.

Within a year the first 43 lots at Buck Hill Falls had been laid out and sold, largely to Quaker Friends and later to New York families. The settlement grew into a community of hikers and picnickers drawn to the surrounding forests and streams, and committed to expanding the area's recreational offerings, golf among them.
