About Park Hills Golf Club
Park Hills Golf Club traces its origins to the early 1920s, when plans were drawn up for a community-oriented club on the edge of Altoona. The initial concept called for the course to be handed over to the city of Altoona and run for the benefit of the wider community.
When the Depression took hold, a group of committed supporters instead chose to build the course themselves and keep it running for members and their guests. That decision kept the club going and established it as a long-standing fixture in the Altoona area.
The layout has been reworked a number of times over the decades, and those changes shaped the course as it plays today.
