About Portland Golf Club
Portland Golf Club has been part of Oregon and national golf history for more than a century, and stands as one of only two courses in the United States to have hosted both the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship. The parkland layout winds past Fanno Creek, which meanders through the property, and is known for its true-rolling greens.
Ben Hogan set the course record with a 63 during his 1945 Portland Open victory, a mark that still stands. He returned the next year to claim his first major title at the 1946 PGA Championship here, then captained the American side at the 1947 Ryder Cup on the same grounds.

The club's tournament history also includes seven Portland Opens, five Portland Classics, the 1969 Alcan Championship, the 1982 U.S. Senior Open, the Fred Meyer Challenge and the 2015 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship. Players from Bobby Jones and Sam Snead to Arnold Palmer, Nancy Lopez and Nelly Korda have competed over its fairways.
