About Salishan Golf Links
Salishan Golf Links sits on the central Oregon coast as part of the Salishan resort, a development begun by Oregon native John Gray, who started acquiring the property in 1961. Gray, an Oregon State University and Harvard graduate and a World War II veteran, also developed other Pacific Northwest resorts and lodges, including Sunriver Resort near Bend, Skamania Lodge in the Columbia Gorge and John's Landing in Portland.

The course took shape in stages alongside the wider resort. After the first Salishan Spit homes were built, Gray turned to the opening nine holes, which now form the back nine of the present layout, followed by the lodge itself, which opened in 1965. The project was planned with attention to the surrounding environment and the region's natural setting of coastal greenery.
The resort has since been expanded and renovated, with a tennis center, a spa and updates to the grounds and accommodations.
