Oakway Golf Course is a public 18-hole course in Eugene, Oregon. It plays 3,576 yards from the back tees, with two sets of tees to suit different levels of play, a USGA rating of 58.6 and a slope rating of 91.
The course grew out of the city's own history. In 1929, local civic leader and pioneer Cal Young set out to build a place where anyone could take up the game he loved, converting part of his farmland into a nine-hole layout. Young had already sold land used for the development of Eugene Country Club in 1923.
From its earliest days, Oakway has remained a straightforward neighborhood course, aimed at friendly, approachable rounds with family and friends rather than anything grander.
