Alpine Meadows Golf Course

Alpine Meadows Golf Course is a 9-hole course in Enterprise, Oregon, where Trout Creek winds through the fairways, making the layout suitable for both competitive play and casual rounds.

The course traces its origins to 1917, when members of the Enterprise Country Club set out to bring golf to Wallowa County on a 43-acre site, funding the project with $5,000 in capital stock sold as $25 shares.

In 1944, a B-24 Liberator bomber on a training flight from Walla Walla became lost over the Wallowa Valley on a foggy night with its radio out. Hundreds of local cars lined the course and lit the ground with their headlights, and the crew of ten landed safely at 1:00 AM; the bomber later took off from the same field. The annual Bomber Tournament, begun in 2016, marks the event.
