Tokatee Golf Club

Tokatee Golf Club sits in the McKenzie River Valley near Blue River, on land with a long history of settlement and travel. The open ground west of what are now the third and fourth holes was once a resting place for travelers, including Native Americans, moving between Eastern Oregon and the Willamette Valley, and it offers views toward the Three Sisters mountains.

The course traces back to N.B. "Nat" Giustina, a lumberman from Eugene who took up golf in his forties and began searching the valley for property on which to build a nine-hole course, often detouring onto Mill Creek Road for the mountain views on trips to his cabin near McKenzie Bridge. In 1962 he purchased the Belknap Ranch as the site. The 320-acre property combined a western parcel logged in the 1940s with the former Sims Homestead to the east, which had held an orchard, a barn, a lake, a dairy, and the first school above Blue River.
