The Trails Golf Club of Norman
About The Trails Golf Club of Norman
The Trails Golf Club opened well before Norman's period of rapid expansion, and the surrounding Trails neighborhood grew up around it. The club has long been part of the local community and remains a recognizable landmark in the area.
The course was designed by Leon Howard, an agronomist known for his work on the original USGA green complexes and drainage systems, and the designer of more than 165 courses, many of them in the Texas Hill Country. The routing was laid out to work with the native landscape, and several holes originally looked out over the river. The Bermuda grass fairways are now framed by a mix of mature cottonwood, sycamore, bald cypress and oak trees.
