Fort Sill Golf Course
About Fort Sill Golf Course
Fort Sill Golf Club traces its origins to a nine-hole Officers' Club course, which held the first grass greens on the post. The current layout was designed in 1946 on heavily wooded ground that had previously been used by the Artillery Hunt Club.
The course is a wooded parkland design, a style uncommon in southwest Oklahoma, playing to more than 6,500 yards from the back tees. Burr oaks and a variety of nut trees frame the fairways, and Medicine Creek winds through the back nine.
Several historical landmarks sit within and around the property. Flipper's Ditch crosses the 15th and 16th fairways, and the site of General Custer's bivouac lies on the 14th fairway, reflecting the area's past.
