Kings Mill Golf Club
About Kings Mill Golf Club
Kings Mill Golf Club takes its name from Titus King, who in 1830 bought eighty acres of forestland in Richland Township, Marion County. He paid a premium for the tract because the Whetstone River — later renamed the Olentangy — ran through it with enough drop to power milling operations, a significant advantage in the years before steam. King built a sawmill and a wooden factory there, and the site became known for decades as King's Mills.

John and Jean Russell bought 160 acres of farmland known as Kingsmill in 1960. The front nine, designed by Jack Kidwell, was built in 1965 and opened on Memorial Day of 1966. A second nine, laid out by John Russell and Ted Cox, followed in 1973. A two-story addition was constructed in 1971, and the original clubhouse building now houses the bar. Linda and Richard Krom purchased the course from the Russell family in July 2017.
